Week 6 - Mexico CCM - Gringo Day!!!!! - July 8, 2025

Hola Todos!

District 10A
I get to jump the wall tomorrow and finally enter for real Mexico! If you didn't know the CCM is completely surrounded by a nice big wall and we joke all the time about jumping the wall. Well I enter the field tomorrow so I'll finally get to go beyond the wall and I can't wait.

Anyways, I actually do have a little to write about this week, but It's really all just about the 4th of July or "Gringo Day" as Esteban says. When we went to class we convinced our teacher to play the national anthem and sing it with us.
Our teacher on the 4th of July
That was a lot of fun. Then he showed us a video of Mexican Independence day, it was lit. Then we convinced him to play some more American themed songs. Probably not the greatest moment, but it was super funny and a good time, and we definitely all needed it because we've kinda been feeling down recently.  Anyways we get done and went to play kickball, I haven't played since elementary school, but it was so fun.

After that we went back home to change and shower. Me and Elder Checketts were showering while our comps changed, not a big deal right? Well we get out of the shower and our comps are gone. We are both kinda annoyed, but we figure they just went to lunch so we go to lunch.
Elders Robinson and Robinson. I met Elder Robinson when we went to Texas for our visa paperwork back in March.
Well we got to lunch and our comps are nowhere to be seen. Then another elder in our house came up to us and basically told us our comps are in trouble, without telling us what happened. So what did they do? Well on their way to lunch they ran into 2 other Elders who had come up with the perfect 4th of July plan, to put on the firefighters turnout gear that was in the gym. So of course they agree. The other companionship puts the gear on, takes a picture, and gives the gear to Elder Garner and Elder Sibbett. Well they take off their shoes, get the boots on, and then someone walks in. They threw off the boots and booked it, leaving behind their shoes. And to get their shoes back they had to go get them from reception where they got talked to. Everything worked out okay but yeah that was quite the 4th.

Saturday was our last day of classes. It's sad to say bye to our teachers, but at this point we're kinda used to it.

Sunday our district sang in church because we are leaving the MTC this week. We sang Families Can Be Together Forever. We sounded fire. We also listened to a recorded devotional from Elder Holland. It was such a powerful devo and now I feel like I gotta be trying so much harder than I have been.
After church with our branch presidency and the Latina district we are paired with.
That's about it for this week. I can't wait to find out where I'm going and to meet my new comp! I'm going to miss my comp Elder Garner so much!
It's also going to be rough saying bye to the district later tonight! But i just can't wait to finally be in my mission.
Our 10A district and the Latina district we are paired with. We all leave tomorrow!
