Week 20 - Mexico City - The Office Season 1 Ep 2 - October 16, 2025
What's up everyone!
Wow what a week it has been. It almost feels like P-day should have been 4 days ago. So what happened this week and why is P-day on Thursday? Let me tell you.

Tuesday
We watched President Nelson's funeral. It was the moment that it really registered that he was gone. Despite how sad it was, I really enjoyed hearing the messages that everyone prepared. After the funeral we went back to the offices and just grinded out some work.
Wednesday
We did office work until about 6. At 6 we walked from our offices for about an hour to an appointment we had made with someone at the metro station. We got there and our friend was not there, so we called him. He answered and told us he would be there in 30 minutes. About 50 minutes later we gave up after many attempts to call him again. Bummer. It was super cool because that area of the city is really pretty at night so we got to see that!
Thursday
In the morning we were doing as we always do, silently planning the day while still snuggled up in our beds. Don't ask me how we all plan our shared schedule at the same time and also don't talk to each other. I don't know. It just works. Anyways, as we were layering there half awake, we got a text from our president, "Can you be in a zoom meeting at 10? I have important information". Now we're thinking, "crap we have to leave early today, that sucks." But then we found out the AP's would also be on the call. Now this isn't normal. It's normally 2 separate calls or just a call for whoever it involves, so now we know this is actually serious. So now its 10 and we get on the call and president tells us that Elder Gong is coming to visit the mission and claims it's because he got close to them while President was in the hospital and wants to visit on Sunday. Yep, that makes perfect sense. Apostles have a lot of time and often come give random visits to just one mission out of the blue. So we just got it all set up without a second thought.

Friday
Exchanges. Elder Murri needed to start really teaching again in preparation for him leaving the offices, so we did exchanges with the ZLs. This worked great for Elder Murri, but what it meant was that the poor zone leader that ended up with us in the office had nothing to do all day. That was until he decided to tell us we were going to go out and do street contacts regardless of how much office work we had. So we went out and did street contacts all night. It actually wasn't that bad and there wasn't a lot of work left to do at that point anyways. We got a few numbers and ended off the night with super nummy tacos.

Office work
Sunday
The big day of Elder Gong's visit! We did a little dine and dash with the sacrament. We had to be at the temple for the meeting really early so we only went to church for the sacrament. It felt really odd. But then we left for the temple (or the church next to the temple). We got there 3 hours early. I actually have no clue why President had the whole mission show up that early but yeah. Then after a while we went and got set up to take a picture and meet Elder Gong. While we were waiting, the people from the church told us we would get to shake Elder Gong's hand, but we would not have any time to talk to him and that we absolutely could not tell him our name or where we are from. Well, after singing every song in the hymn book, Elder Gong walked in and told us that when he shakes our hand he wants us to tell him our names and where we are from. Elder Gong moment! Well, after all that stuff we finally got to the "Devotional". Elder Gong asked us all to tell him the attributes of Christ we see in our mission president. After hearing from like 12 different people he then starts his talk and the second line went something a little like this, "You've had a lot happen recently, so know that it's not your fault your president is being reassigned," Absolute silence and confusion. What is he talking about? Our president is literally right in front of us. Well we then found out that our president was released 2 weeks prior and has just kind of been here while they found a new president. It was not his choice either. He wanted to stay. What a guy! Gets shot and just gets right back to work like it's nothing. But now we have a new president. President Jasso from Torreon, Mexico.
Monday
So because we got a new president, one of the area 70s decided the ZLs needed to have a leadership meeting with him, which means that we had to suddenly go find food for all of the ZLs. Thus, no more P-day. After that we also had to take someone to the airport. Yay offices!
Tuesday
Why is it not P-day yet? We had our district meeting on Tuesday and a lot of work to do so that's what we did.
This song was Elder Stoddard's (my first comp) alarm every morning. The other office elders found out and blasted it at me because they knew I hated it after hearing every day for 6 weeks :)
Wednesday
Still not P-day. We had to take a new senior couple through immigration, so that was basically all of the day. We still had our food appointment. She was a very interesting hermana. We learned all about her revelations she's received... about how to avoid cancer from 5G? And also about how the sun is a planet? In case you were wondering, the solve to cancer is in fact walking barefoot on tile and eating broccoli, asparagus, and cinnamon every other day. Yeah.
Thursday
P-DAY!!! We went out to the rich part of our area called Polanco and just walked around. It was actually super fun. Also super weird because half the people there are American. Then we went and did secretary stuff... on P-day. The grind never stops!!!! And then we came to the offices and CONTINUED THE GRIND!
Also at some point in the week a random dude stopped me in the street to tell me I had beautiful eyes. So that was fun.

^ Street contacts for real ^
That's all for this week. Talk to you all on Tuesday because P-day is never actually on Monday anymore.
Love you all!
