Week 23 - Mexico City - The Office Season 1 Ep 5 - November 3, 2025
What's up everyone!
Okay quick email! I'm just going to go over the days that things really happened.
Tuesday
We went to pick up a missionary that had gone home for an injury and was finally ready to come back. Now to make things more interesting, he went home and served as a service missionary in the Baltimore, Maryland mission. Some of you might be like, wait isn't that Josh Lamont's mission. Yes. Yes it is. Well, this missionary pulls up and goes "Oh I have a gift for you from Elder Lamont." So anyways thank you so much Josh for the Mambas. I actually love you so much!

(Sam's good fried from high school is Josh Lamont. He is a proselyting missionary in Baltimore, Maryland. A missionary from Sam's mission had to go home due to an injury six months ago. This missionary has been serving as a service missionary in Baltimore, Maryland for the last six months while his injury healed. Sam had to email him over the last week to coordinate him coming back to the mission. When this missionary realized he was going back to Mexico, he went around and said goodbye to several missionaries in Baltimore who he had gotten close with. One was Elder Lamont. When Elder Lamont heard where this missionary was going back to, he said, "Do you know Elder Robinson?" The missionary said that Elder Robinson was the missionary in the office who had been arranging his flights back to Mexico! Elder Lamont bought a pack of Mamba's - Sam's favorite - and gave them to this missionary so he could hand deliver them to Sam. God is in the details for all of these connections to happen!).

We also found out that Mexico is getting a new mission. Next July there will be a new Mexico mission called the Tula, Mexico mission. My last area and zone - Colmena - will be yanked into the new mission which is north west of my mission. Also lots of missionaries throughout my mission and all the other Mexico City missions will be yanked into the brand new Mexico Tula Mission. I could possibly end up in a new mission next July with another new mission president! We'll probably find out around February who is going to the new mission. That is also when new missionaries will start being called to that mission. We've had a higher number of missionaries coming to our mission and we think it's so that there will be enough missionaries to move over to that mission.
Wednesday
We went to immigration with some missionaries. Hooray! We also carved pumpkins. The produce stand by our house had only three little pumpkins. We bought them all.
Thursday
This coming Sunday is our stake conference. We were asked to hand deliver some invitations. This street reminded us more of southern California than Mexico.
Friday
We took some food to a meeting for the new missionaries. We got to just go shop at Costco for a bit while we waited for the Costco pizzas we ordered to cook. That was cool. At this meeting there were some new rules outlined. The new rules are that we got banned from hiking. Not so cool, but that's chill - we keep going.

Saturday and Sunday
Día de Los Muertos. This is the holiday Mexico celebrates instead of Halloween. We had to be home early. That's about it.
Today
We got to watch Coco! We bought pan de muerto (bread of the dead - a sweet orange flavored bread) and hot chocolate to go with it. No complaints. Before that, we took the sky tram to see what it was like. It spans Mexico City but only 3 stops are in our area. So we took it those 3 stops and then went back.
It went over a cemetery that was still partially decorate for Dia de Los Muertos.
This set of 'exercise' equipment was outside the tram station.
Also, now we have 7 missionaries living in our house. Three of the four secretaries are training a replacement for transfers next week! I don't know how were going to survive. But we got it! This set of 'exercise' equipment was outside the tram station.
That's it!
I love you all
-Elder Robinson
