Week 27 - Mexico City - The Office Season 2 Ep 3 - December 1, 2025
Hola a todos!
I hope you're all doing well and had a good Thanksgiving!
Lets get into what happened this week!
Tuesday
Not a whole ton happened, but we did have the opportunity to go out and have a lesson! It was with this dude named Miguel. He had asked us if we could do the lesson in a park at night. Now based on how scary he looked in his WhatsApp profile picture we were not about to do that, so we got it moved to during the day time. Well, we show up and see Miguel (not as scary in person) and start talking to him. I don't know how to describe this lesson better than to say it was a perfect MTC lesson. Dude wanted to improve his life, thought absolutely everything we said was perfect and absolutely true, and told us he felt something different about what we were teaching. So we gave this guy a Book of Mormon and invited him to church. He told us he absolutely would come to church. Wow what a guy. Stay tuned to find out if he actually showed up.

| I'm pretty sure I'm Garfunkel's doppelganger. We found this CD in the office. |
Wednesday
We had interviews with President. Now I'm really confused about my interview because everyone else said their interviews were great and that president asked the normal how are you kind of questions, well that was kind of my interview. Here's how it went:
President: "How are you getting closer to God"
Me: "Uh you know scripture study, listening to conference talks, but mainly through my prayers. I'm spending a lot of time focusing on my prayers and I've noticed I've been getting way closer to God"
President: "You need to be reading your scriptures and Preach my Gospel every day"
Me: Confused at where that came from
President: "How is the work in your area going"
Me: "Well, obviously were a little busy with the office work, but we call all of our references and actually have a few really good lessons and have a lot more lined up!"
President: "You guys need to get out and work more, we should make you guys a schedule. I'll send that to you later" (He never sent anything)
Me: Confused again
President: "Do you have any questions for me?"
Me: "Uhm how can I make the most of my mission"
President: "Read your scriptures and Preach my Gospel every day and get into your area to work more. Also learn Spanish"
Me: Wondering what is happening
President: "Perfect let's end with a prayer"
I kid you not that whole interview took 3 minutes. But he's super chill every time I talk to him in the offices so I don't know what that was. I will work on doing what he suggested.
Thursday:
Just office work. Oh wait it's thanksgiving. Hmmm. Who knew.
JK we actually had plans to go to eat a Thanksgiving meal with a member, but we had to cancel so Elder Nielsen could do a baptismal interview for a friend of the sisters in our district.
I also got a call from President that went something like this (Also I realize the way I'm making him sound with the 2 interactions from this week, but I promise he's mostly not normally like this and is really awesome): Hey Elder Robinson, Elder Blank needs to go home, so I need you to get a flight so that he can fly so that he can go home. Can you look into flights, because he needs a flight, so that he can fly home. I already talked to Carl (church travel) who can help you get a flight, which Elder Blank needs to fly home, because he needs to go home.
I then confirmed with my comp that the call was as confusing as I thought it was.
Friday
Not much, just sent an email to Carl double checking that the Elder from yesterday was actually going to get a flight.
Saturday
Service. We moved bags of dirt and rock down several flights of stairs into our bishops backyard. My legs are dead. Then after that I got an email from Carl saying the Elder would be going home the next day. Weird that its on a Sunday but okay if that gets him home then, chill. I say that that's fine and 2 minutes later got another email with his flight information... which is today, not tomorrow, in 3 hours. Crap. Call the Elder tell him to pack and get to the airport immediately.
Show up to the airport an hour before his flight takes off because of traffic. Get him through security 45 minutes before his flight takes off. He made it home!
Sunday
Church and office. Miguel did not come to church, but he's been reading the Book of Mormon like crazy. Dude is super interested and just had something come up on Sunday, but he's going to come!
Monday
We made gingerbread houses. Ours did not stay together so we just ate it.

Spiritual thought
This week I was reading in Mosiah and something I really like about this section is the account of Alma's people in the wilderness in chapter 24 after the Lamanites find them. Alma and his people were being enslaved by the Lamanites and persecuted for their beliefs. Even though they were going through a hard time they never stopped believing or praying, and God never once left them.
Sometimes life gets hard but if we hold strong to our beliefs and trust in God, he will help us. God never abandons us!
That's it!
I love you all!
-Elder Robinson
