Week 28 - Mexico City - The Office Season 2 Ep 4 - December 10, 2025

What's up everyone!

We went to the temple today which is why today is P-day instead of Monday. Then we went out to an old Carmelite monastery in the forest (Desierto De Los Leones) where my phone and Elder Nielsen's phone died. Then Elder Mendoza's phone died. So we navigated back to civilization for about 2 hours using the 10% left on Elder Badillo's phone. I'm exhausted.
Lagoon by the monastery
Broke in to our zone leader's house to charge our phones so we could get an Uber home.

So basically I'm just going to do a quick recap of what happened this week but not when, and then go over one day that was amazing.
I've had a headache since last Tuesday. I went and got tests done. Nothing is wrong, apparently. I still have a headache though.
My head hurts.
We had a random zone conference for only 3 of our 9 zones? Immigration... Immigration again... Immigration again and again. Random leadership conference because some guy from Salt Lake was in town. He was sad that we brought Costco pizza and not tacos except we didn't know he was coming or that he wanted tacos. The American ward had a Christmas party and invited a mariachi band to perform. We went out for a minute to watch.
Service and more Service.
We went to a town in the middle of nowhere to hand out food. There were so many people who came!
Miguel, our investigator from my last email, came to church! Ate dinner with a senior couple.

And now Yesterday. Intercambios (exchanges) with our ZLs.
This day was amazing! I was with Elder Jaggi who was an AP when I first got here. It was a lot of fun to get to know him. Anyways, why was it so good? Lessons! Two incredible lessons. The first one was with someone totally new named Gabriel. He was an online reference. He is 21 and in college. He has been looking into a lot of religions but none of them really sit right with him. He told us he was looking for connection and everywhere else he looked was just a bunch of old people. Then he started seeing the ads for our church online and noticed that it was all young people in the advertisements. So, he submitted his name for us to meet with him. Well he was surprised when the two people that showed up to teach him were actually two kids his age. He asked a lot of good questions and told us he would like a tour of our church and that he wants to come on Sunday too! So, hopefully those don't fall through.

Then we had a lesson with Cristina. We had one lesson with her about a month ago and haven't really been able to have another lesson since. Well she showed up to the church and this time she brought her son Esteban, who Elder Jaggi had just so happened to have spent his entire P-day with playing soccer. Crazy "coincidence" that Elder Jaggi happened to play soccer with the son of our investigator. Well we gave them a tour of the church and this 14-year-old kid had gone home after playing soccer with the missionaries two days before and did a bunch of research. He knew so much! He was super interested in everything we talked about and showed them. Then eventually we went to the relief society room to teach a lesson. Christina has a lot of questions, but always feels like our answers are exactly what she's been looking for, but won't come to church because it's her one break day from running her own business. Or should I say she wouldn't come, because half way through the lesson she realized her son was crying and he told her how badly he wants to come to church with us, so she decided it was finally time to come. So we should see them this Sunday!

I don't know If I explained that well, but I hope so.

Also Miguel is doing great! He came to church and is already through 2 Nephi!

Quick spiritual thought.
Coincidences. Elder Jaggi was not my zone leader at the start of this transfer. This last P-day was his first P-day in our zone. The ZL before him had to go home because he tore 3 ligaments in his foot. If the previous ZL had stayed for another week our ZLs would not have played soccer with Cristina's son, Esteban (because of the ZL's torn ligaments) and Esteban would not have been interested in going to the lesson. It's a massive coincidence, but the thing is God had a plan for all of us. He made sure that Elder Jaggi would have the opportunity to play soccer with Estaban and then two days later that he would just happen to be on exchanges with us so he could be there for our lesson with Esteban. Jaggi being there lead to a completely different lesson than Elder Nielsen and I would have taught which helped them both feel the spirit and have the desire to come to church. God knows everyone of us and puts people and things in our lives to help us on our path. They aren't a coincidence, they are a part of his plan!

That's all!
When the doctor asked where my head hurts.
I love you all
-Elder Robinson
